Port Angeles chamber salutes business leaders, welcomes new members

(Port Angeles) – The Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce saluted a number of members and welcomed new leadership yesterday.
Brian Kuh has left as the chamber's board president after serving the past two years.
Kuh will stay on the chamber board as the past president and also will be the new president of the Clallam County Economic Development Council.
KONP's Todd Ortloff is the new president for the chamber.
The Chamber named Todd Gubler, general manager of Lake Crescent Lodge, as its "member xxtraordinaire, for his work in re-vitalizing the lodge, and making it a nearly year-round force for the county's economy.
Gubler also forecast 40 new job openings at the lodge this coming year.
Another major presentation, the 2013 President's Award, went to Dr.
Luke Robins, President of Peninsula College. Robbins was noted for his work in trying to help the area create a cohesive economic-development effort.
The Chamber honored outgoing board members Dave Neupert, George
Bergner and Ed Bedford, and incoming members Brian Albright, Steve
Burke, Rob Tulloch, and Tod Gubler.
January's Beautification Award was presented to Storm King
Crossfit, while the Business of the Month plaque was awarded to
Nippon Paper, with General Manager Harold Norlund accepting the honor.
Chamber regular meetings will be reduced from weekly to bi-weekly, on the first and third Mondays of the month. although the board may come up with some other activities a few times this year in addition to the regular meetings.
