(Sequim) – A Sequim man has been jailed on a list of charges after law enforcement say he crashed his van into a Sequim business and through a residential yard.
54-year-old Daniel Gockerell was arrested yesterday after police were called about the incidents.
It began about 6:40 in the morning with calls that a silver Dodge minivan had crashed into the front of Thomas Building Supply on Washington Street in Sequim.
Minutes later, dispatch received a call from a resident of the 900 block of Belfield Ave. that a silver minivan had driven through a yard and run into a fence.
Clallam County sheriff's deputies tried to make contact with the driver. That's when deputies say Gockerell broke a window and than ran into the house. He then allegedly threatened officers, saying he had a gun. He then bolted out the back door. As deputies tried to arrest him, Gockerell punched an officer in the head. After authorities subdued him, they say he tried again to disarm an officer and take his gun.
Authorities say Gockerell had also made threats to family members earlier and punched a woman in the head before bolting from the house.
Gockerell was jailed on numerous assault charges, malicious mischief and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
