Pettit Oil shuts down

January 17th, 2014 - 10:15am

(Seattle) – The main distributor for gas in our area is out of business.

Pettit Oil closed this week. The company had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November. It had more than 22 million dollars in debts.

Pettit's main office phones are inactive and only contain a message that says the company is no longer in business.

It's unclear what will happen with the distribution network Pettit operated on the north Olympic Peninsula that included a number of local gas stations and a “card lock” fueling operation.

Pettit has been operating in the state for 75 years and had seven distribution facilities in western Washington.
