PA school board will ask voters for high school bond next year

(Port Angeles) – Voters in the Port Angeles School District will decide on a bond to build a new high school next year.
Last night, the school board voted to put a bond measure before voters in February 2015. The district will decide the size of the bond after working through possible designs.
The board also voted last night to ask for proposals from companies wanting to design the new high school.
The new school would be located at the current high school campus.
Building a new high school was the top recommendation from the district's Long Range Facilities Advisory committee. That committee, made up of more than 60 community members, has met for the past year to come up with plans for the district's aging buildings. Most of the schools are 50 years old and are getting harder to maintain.
