PA boys, girls top Eagles

BOYS - The Riders roared off to a 19-9 first period lead and were coasting, 29-9 with 3:03 left in the second quarter.

The Eagles made a 10-4 run and closed to 33-19 at the half.

The Riders then went on a 22-9 third period scoring binge and won going away.

Hunter Hathaway paced the Riders with 20, Derek Schumacher added 14, Brady Konopaski 11 as 11 Riders scored. Jacob Gotchall had 8 for the Eagles.

PA is now 8-4 in league play, 10-6 overall with a trip to NK Tuesday, still tied for third in the standings.

GIRLS - Port Angeles bounced back from a Tuesday loss with a big game on the road, leading 12-2 at the quarter, 26-11 at the half. It was 22-2 at the end of three.

Ten Riders scored, led by Maddie Hinrichs with 15, Krysta Johnson with 13.

PA is now 11-1 with four left and hosts NK Tuesday, going to Bremerton Friday needing two wins to clinch at least a tie for first and number one seed to West Central District.
