(Sequim) – Voters in the Sequim School District will decide a large bond measure.
When that happens is still uncertain.
This week, the school board decided it would present a $154 million dollar bond package before voters. The bond would pay for a list of improvements outlined by a district facilities committee. If approved, the district would use 140 million dollars for upgrades to the high school and two elementary schools, plus build a new elementary. Nearly five million dollars would be used toward a new stadium with another four million dollars going to renovate playfields and the high school track. Another three million dollars would go to roofing projects, remodeling the transportation shop and building a new maintenance building.
School board members haven't decided yet when the issue will go before voters. They'll take up an official bond resolution at a meeting in two weeks.
