Rider girls/boys top PT

The Port Angeles league-champion girls will enter West Central District play off an easy 63-26 win over visiting Port Townsend Tuesday night.
The Riders will play at Wilson High Feb. 19th at 6 in the second round of the tournament which will send five teams to regional.
PA broke away from a 4-4 tie to get a 13-6 quarter lead, hiked that to 35-12 at intermission, then led 48-22 and on to the final limiting PT to 14 second half points.
Senior captains Maddie Hinrichs and Krysta Johnson let fellow seniors Baylee Jones, Kylie Jeffers, Brittany Norberg, Payton Lee and Lenora Hofer start the game, but they came off the bemch to score21 of the first half points.
Johnson wound up with 19, Hinrichs 14 for the game as eight Riders scored. Jayde Richardson led the Redskin girls with 7.
PT will play in the 1A district this wsekend following a 5-11 league record.
BOYS - Port Angeles came up with a 50-48 win at Port Towmnsend and the Rider boys fimished fourth in the league standings and will play at 1 Monday at Foss High against the South Sound's #4
team in a winner moves on game.
Port Townsend took a 19-6 early lead, the Riders fought back to trail 30-25, then turned on defense to take a 41-36 lead into the final eight minutes.
Paul Spaltenstein had 18, Cody Russell 16 for the Redskins, while Derek Schumacher had 18 and Hayden Gunderson 16 for the Riders who fimisjhed 12-8 om the season.
