Highway 101 Deer Park detour delayed until Feb. 21

February 14th, 2014 - 3:49pm

(Port Angeles) Department of Transportation officials have delayed a detour on Highway 101 at Deer Park Road until Friday, February 21st.

Weather permitting, Highway 101 will be reduced to one lane in each direction next Friday, beginning at 7 p.m.

Highway 101 will reopen in its new configuration Saturday morning, February 22nd.

Striping work requires dry weather conditions, and in the event of inclement weather the work will be postponed.

Once the bypass is in place, crews working for Clallam County will build a US 101 underpass that will connect the Deer Park Road and Buchanan Drive.

The bypass will have a reduced speed limit of 25 miles per hour, and it will remain in place around the clock through May.
