(Port Angeles) – U-S Senator Patty Murray came to Port Angeles briefly on Wednesday afternoon for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new veterans health clinic.
The new North Olympic Peninsula Clinic, a Veterans Affairs facility, replaces the existing outpatient clinic in Port Angeles.
Officials say it will triple the outpatient
services for veterans in the region.
VA Public Affairs Director Chad Hutson talked about the old and the new facilities.
Hutson says virtually all services will be doubled or tripled in
this new and much larger building.
There will be two full-time doctors at the clinic as well as more
LPN's and nurses. The clinic will be open weekdays from 8 to 4:30.
The expanded clinical offerings include primary and home based care services, as well as some physical therapy, mental health and pharmacy services. The clinic also offers telemedicine to link into experts from outside the area.
The new clinic is located at 1114 Georgiana Street.
