February 24th, 2014 - 2:35pm

(Carlsborg) -- A Port Angeles Police K-9 unit assisted the State Patrol in apprehending a felony suspect Sunday night near Highway 101 and Kitchen Dick Road.

Officers were advised that troopers observed a confirmed stolen motorcycle and chased it to the area of Olson and Waldo Roads.

The suspect, later identified by Police as 31-year-old Joshua Tinker of Spokane, reportedly fled on foot.

Port Angeles officer Lucas Degand and K-9 Bogey responded to the area.

They tracked the suspect northeast through both wooded areas and residential yards.

The track ended about 10 minutes later with the successful capture of the suspect in heavy brush just south of the intersection of Taylor Cutoff and River Run Roads.

Tinker was later booked into the Clallam County Jail for Taking a Motor Vehicle Without Permission, Felony Eluding, D-U-I and Driving While License Suspended.

Authorities say Officer Degand suffered a minor injury.

Felony charges of Third Degree Assault and Harming a Police Dog have also been referred to the County Prosecutor.
