(Olympia) – Legislation that would bring an extra million dollars a year to Olympic Medical Center passed the state House.
The Sole Community Hospital Bill passed unanimously on Friday. It had already passed the state Senate. The bill heads back to the Senate for some slight modifications.
Under the measure, Medicaid reimbursement rates for rural hospitals that are not already classified as critical access hospitals, would be increased to about 70 percent. Medicaid reimbursements currently are at about 55 percent.
Last week, a contingent of OMC officials traveled to Olympia to lobby for the bill.
