March 11th, 2014 - 3:23pm

(Carlsborg) -- A truck fire caused a huge traffic jam on Highway 101 between Port Angeles and Sequim today.

The State Patrol says a white 1992 Kenworth van driven by a Port Angeles man was eastbound near Barr Road about 10:30 this morning.

Reports say the engine began to smoke and the driver, identified as 39-year-old Michael Thompson, pulled the vehicle to the shoulder, where it caught on fire.

Authorities say the roadway was fully blocked for an hour and partially blocked for an additional hour.
