Wave buys local fiber optic company

March 13th, 2014 - 6:25am

(Port Angeles) – The local cable provider, Wave Broadband, has bought local fiber optics provider Capacit Provisioning Incorporated (CPI) for an undisclosed sum.

Wave officials say the deal provided Wave with a business services unit to go with its the residential services that it has been providing to consumers in CPI’s footprint for more than a decade.

CPI is the largest privately owned fiber-based Ethernet provider on the Olympic Peninsula. CPI’s primary focus has been serving businesses and government entities in the Port Angeles and Sequim area.

Wave will keep an agreement CPI had in place to provide fiber services for the city of Port Angeles. That deal will last through September 2024.
