Mill exec Norlund resigns from Nippon Paper

(Port Angeles) -- A longtime executive at the Nippon Paper Industries mill in Port Angeles has resigned to return to his home country of Canada.

Company officials say that Nippon Executive Vice President Harold Norlund made many outstanding contributions during his career with the company and will be greatly missed.

Employees were informed of the news today.

A statement released by Human Resources Manager Cathy Price says in the interim, Ryan Tsuruga, Vice President of Operations, will continue to manage operational functions at the Mill and Company President Chris Nagaura will have overall responsibility for Corporate matters.

A longtime mill manager, Norlund served the company for 12 years.
