March 18th, 2014 - 3:57pm

(Port Angeles) -- Another detour Thursday will allow more work to be done at the new Lauridsen Boulevard Bridge in Port Angeles.

City officials say beginning at about 7 a.m. Thursday, the contractor will start work pouring the concrete approach slab on the east end of the span.

Southbound traffic on Race Street will be detoured east on 9th Street, then south on Washington Street to Park Avenue, then west returning to Race Street.

Northbound traffic on Race Street will be detoured east on Park Avenue to Washington Street, then north to 9th Street, then west to Race Street.

The traffic detour will be in place until the end of the working day.

The City asks you to consider alternate routes and allow extra time to travel.

Safety of the public, pedestrians and motorists is a top priority during the project.

Please drive courteously and obey all traffic signs and especially the posted speed limits.

The times could change depending on weather, progress and conditions.
