Port to continue developing marina committee
March 26th, 2014 - 5:53am
(Port Angeles) -- The Port of Port Angeles will continue to work the makeup of an advisory committee dealing with the PA Boat Haven.
Port officials say they've received plenty of applicants, but too many of them are recreational boaters. They want more on the committee from the marine repair and those who live on board their boats.
There are now 18 applicants for the 14-member committee. There are still plans for the committee to meet next month. One of the chief issues will be look at moorage rates at the marina. The port agreed to form the committee last year after hikes in rates at the Boat Haven drew sharp criticism that a study determining rates relied too heavily on Seattle-area marinas.
