More work on new PA bridge forces closure of main street
March 31st, 2014 - 5:11am
(Port Angeles) – Crews are getting closer to finishing the new Lauridsen Boulevard bridge in Port Angeles.
And starting today, a three-day detour on Race Street will be set up.
The contractor is beginning work that includes the milling and paving of Race Street, completion of the traffic signals at Race and Lauridsen, and permanent striping on Race Street.
Race Street will be closed at 9th Street heading south and Park Avenue heading north. This traffic detour will be in place until the end of the working day Wednesday.
The work is weather dependent, so the detour could be pushed back to later in the week, but city officials say Race Street will be open this weekend.
