Sequim coach arrested for improper contact with teen girl

(Sequim) – A Sequim High School assistant girls basketball coach has been arrested on felony charges for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a teenage girl.
28-year-old Jerry Jeff Pedersen was arrested and booked into the Clallam County Jail Tuesday for communicating with a minor for immoral purposes – a Class C felony.
Sequim Police Detective Sergeant Sean Madison said in a press release that officers opened an investigation into the allegations on or around March 21st.
The investigation, which consisted of interviews of Sequim High School staff and students, included the service of search warrants for cellular phone records and stored data.
Madison says the case has been referred to the Clallam County Prosecutor's Office for review and the filing of appropriate criminal charges.
