(Port Angeles) – Two Port Angeles man have been arrested in connection with a bomb threat that cleared the Clallam County Courthouse and Armory Square Mall last week.
43-year-old Tony Deason and 49-year-old Steven Fortman were picked up over the past few days.
Police say Deason told Fortman to make the call claiming there was a bomb.
Both men remain in the Clallam County jail. Fortman has been charged with making a bomb threat and possessing methamphetamine. Deason has not yet been formally charged.
Investigators believe Deason purchased a cell phone for Fortman to use and Fortman made the call from near Hurricane Ridge then tossed the phone.
The courthouse was closed and mall shutdown about two o'clock Friday afternoon after the bomb threat came in to police dispatch.
No suspicious items were found at either location.
