County to unveil latest Carlsborg sewer costs this week
April 7th, 2014 - 5:47am
(CARLSBORG)-- Clallam County is moving closer to putting a sewer in for Carlsborg.
This week, county officials will release the latest information on the project with the Carlsborg Community Advisory Council.
The county has had to come up with a plan to put in a system to deal with sewage in Carlsborg in order to get a state ban on development in the area lifted. One of the questions facing the project was the projected location of the main pumping station...in Carlsborg or the existing station in Sequim.
County public works administrative director Bob Martin says, tentatively, initial hookup fees to the new sewer line are pegged at $500-dollars, and would be good for a two year period. After that the charge could run up to $7-thousand dollars. The incentive for the proposed plan is to get as many subscribers signed up as soon as possible.
For the next 20 years, the sewer charge is estimated at about
$68-dollars per month for sewer customers. These costs are all subject to approval of the plan through the county.
The Carlsborg Council meets tomorrow night at 6:30 in the Greywolf Elementary School library.
