(PORT ANGELES) – Tomorrow marks the first in a series of small cruise ship visits to Port Angeles over the next few months.
Connecticut based “American Cruise Lines” will be back with more scheduled stops in Port Angeles this year.
Typically, the ships hold up to 100 passengers, and this year will dock at City Pier, allowing tourists a bit more time than last year to see the area.
Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce executive director Russ Veenema says American Cruise Lines is doubling the number of stops in Port Angeles.
Veenema says when docked in Port Angeles, two destinations seem to be the most popular, pitting Port Angeles against a foreign destination.
The passengers tend to be senior citizens from 60-80 years old, and represent a cross section of the United States.
The scheduled stops in Port Angeles will take place on Tuesday's for the months of April, June, skip July and continue into August, September and October, with one additional stop scheduled the first Tuesday of November.
Beginning in Seattle, the cruise will also stop in Anacortes, Friday Harbor, Port Townsend and Poulsbo.
