Fire badly damages Port Angeles home

April 16th, 2014 - 5:31am

(Port Angeles) A west Port Angeles home went up in flames yesterday.

The fire at 4017 West Fairmount Ave broke out about eleven yesterday morning and quickly engulfed the house.

Fire chief Ken Dubuc tells KONP neighbors reported the occupants of the house left about 15 minutes before smoke was seen.

He did not have the names of the home's occupants. County property records show the home is owned by Vail Hickey.

Dubuc says the fire department called for a general alarm, and requested a mutual aid engine from Clallam County Fire District #2 to assist with battling the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
