Decision day for Sequim school bond
April 22nd, 2014 - 5:42am
(Sequim) – Voters have returned more than 45 percent of the ballots for the 154-million dollar Sequim school bond issue.
Votes will be tallied tonight.
As of today, the county auditor has received 98-hundred-26 completed ballots.
More than 21-thousand ballots were sent out to registered voters in the Sequim School District.
The district is seeking approval of the bond to pay for a myriad of renovations and new construction.
Last week, the turnout reached the needed 40 percent of the last general election to be validated. A 60 percent supermajority is still needed to pass the bond election.
Voters have until 8 p.m. tonight to place their ballot in a dropbox or mail it with a postmark of no later than today.
