Clallam Fire District short of volunteers

(Port Angeles) Clallam County Fire District 2 has found itself short in its volunteer ranks, and is looking to fill 27 vacancies.

The fire district 2 surrounds the city of Port Angeles and serves the communities of Deer Park, Gales Addition, Black Diamond, and Dry Creek.

Chief, Sam Phillips says that the district is looking for both firefighters and EMT's to fill their ranks.

Those who volunteer do receive some financial compensation for the hours they put in. The County also provides protective clothing and other equipment needed for future firefighters and EMT's.

Interested persons can obtain applications and additional information on line at www.clallmfire2.org., or by stopping into the administrative offices at 102 East 5th Street in Port Angeles.
