(PORT ANGELES)--The Port Angeles School Board considering an $814-thousand dollar offer for the sale of the Fairview Elementary School property.
The Board meets tonight to take up the offer made by Kurt Jafay of Sequim.
The Fairview property was appraised at $904-thousand dollars last February. That was when the property was officially placed on the market by the school board. The district shuttered the school in 2007 and moved Fairview students to Roosevelt, which was converted to an elementary.
The school board put the property on the market to try to raise money to pay for upgrades and replacement of other school buildings in the district.
The district may go before voters next year with a bond issue to build a new high school in Port Angeles, among other captial needs.
