PASD approves next step in Fairview school sale

May 2nd, 2014 - 11:11am

(Port Angeles) The Port Angeles School Board will move forward with selling the old Fairview School property.

The board Thursday night unanimously approved the intent to sell.

Kurt Jafay has offered $814-thousand dollars. He has not indicated intentions for the property if he makes the purchase.

No sale will occur before the middle of June. The school board will hold a public hearing on the proposed sale May 22nd.

The Fairview property was appraised at $904-thousand dollars last February. The school board put the property on the market in an effort to raise money for other capital needs.

The district shuttered the school in 2007 due to declining enrollment.
