Large crowd discusses possible future of Lincoln Theater

May 8th, 2014 - 12:20pm

(PORT ANGELES) The iconic Lincoln Movie Theater in Port Angeles is officially up for sale. Sun Basin Theaters owners put the nearly 100-year-old theater on the market Tuesday. It was closed in February when the owners opted not to spend the money to upgrade to digial projection.

Last night, about 75 people gathered at Studio Bob on Port Angeles, to see if the theater could be preserved and used for arts related purposes.

Cathy Haight, with the Port Angeles Arts Council, says that the purpose of the forum was to brainstorm about how the theater might be preserved for future use by the local art community.

Haight said that another meeting was planned for early June after the persons present worked to explore the feasibility of the proposals brought up at the forum.
