Candidate filing begins next week

(Port Angeles) Candidate filing starts next week for this fall's elections.

Already, three candidates have announced intentions to run.

Port Angeles-based architect Mary Ellen Winborn says she will run for Clallam County community development director. Incumbent Sheila Roark-Miller has indicated she plans to run for re-election.

Forks resident Bill Peach says he'll take another run at Clallam County commissioner. Peach is a former manager for Rayonier and was most recently the executive for the Quilleyute tribe before retiring. Peach ran for commissioner as a Republican in 2010. Incumbent commissioner Democrat Mike Doherty has not said whether he will run or not.

Current Clallam County elections supervisor Shoona Riggs says she will run for county auditor. Current auditor Patty Rosand is retiring.

Filing starts Monday morning and runs through Friday next week.
