(PORT ANGELES) An 18-year old Port Angeles man wanted for a no bail felony drug warrant was arrested this week, with an assist by “Bogey”, a Port Angeles Police Department K-9.
Police say Nicholas Tyler Roberts of Port Angeles was first spotted on foot in the 700 block of South Cedar Street at about 12:30 Wednesday. When Roberts saw the police unit, he ran through a number of yards, making his way into a wooded ravine near the Tumwater truck route.
Roberts had felony arrest warrants, and K-9 Bogey was authorized for his capture.
Bogey tracked Roberts into the wooded area, across a creek, and to a group of bushes where Roberts had concealed himself.
Bogey found Roberts a short time later and employed a “grab and hold” until officers arrived to make the arrest.
Roberts was treated for his minor injuries sustained in the incident.
He is currently in jail on new charges of “Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer” and for his no-bail felony bench warrant.
