(Port Angeles) – Clallam County sheriffs deputies have arrested a local man wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in the Joyce area.
Friday night, deputies took 30-year-old Aaron Scott Markishtum into custody on the north side of Highway 101 between Carlsborg Road and Joslin Road.
Officials say the arrest was the result of several hours of surveillance.
Deputies have been looking for Markishtum since late last month after they say he was clearly identified on surveillance video burglarizing a house in the Joyce area.
Investigators say Markishtum armed himself with a sword, elevating the burglary to a class “A” felony.
Detectives say they've linked Markishtum with three other burglaries based on his shoe prints and method of forcing entry into the crime scenes. These burglaries include a residence on Freshwater Bay on April 28th, a garage at Addi Lane on April 28th, and a residence on Edgewood Lane on May 2nd.
