PA school board to decide sale of Fairview school property

(Port Angeles) – The Port Angeles School Board hears from the public tonight on a plan to sell the former Fairview Elementary School property.
As part of an intent to sell arrangement, the board must hold a public hearing.
That's tonight at 6:30 at Port Angeles High School.
Superintendent Dr. Jane Pryne says an offer of $814-thousand dollars is on the table of the building and ten acres located east of Port Angeles off Lake Farm Road.
The board is expected to take action on the proposal during their regular meeting following the public hearing.
Pryne says she's recommending the district use the money to help offset costs of other capital projects. She says the money could defray design cost for a proposed new high school.
The Fairview property was appraised at $904-thousand dollars last February. The school board put the property on the market last year. The district shuttered the school in 2007 due to declining enrollment.
