May 23rd, 2014 - 3:39pm

(Port Angeles) -- A Sequim man is expected to make a first court appearance this afternoon after a fatal shooting near Port Angeles.

27-year-old Nathaniel Darren Olson was taken into custody early yesterday morning after the shooting at a home on Monroe Road.

He's being held on 500-thousand dollars bond for investigation of Second-Degree Murder in the Clallam County Jail.

25-year-old Matthew Baker of Port Angeles was found shot and killed in the home at what appeared to be a birthday party where heavy drinking was involved.

Clallam County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Jim Borte says a disturbance call was received about 12:40 Thursday morning.

Deputies found Baker dead on the floor of an apparent gunshot wound.

Neither Olson nor Baker lived at the home.
