Crescent schools to use $10K grant for safety improvements

(JOYCE) – The Crescent School District has received a state grant to use new technology for its emergency response systems.
Crescent School District Superintendent and Principal, Dr. Clayton Mork, says they'll get just over 10-thousand dollars to be used to improve a public address system for the school in Joyce.
Mork says when the school was constructed, there was not a way to simultaneously address all the rooms at once.
He says they've found a way to improve on the school's recently installed computer system with the help of grant funding.
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction awarded nearly $7 million dollars this week to 80 school districts to help them decrease the time it takes for police and other first responders to arrive and react to incidents at schools.
The Sequim and Port Angeles School Districts were not part of the grant funding.
