County delays decision on Striped Peak road district
June 11th, 2014 - 5:16am
(Port Angeles) – Clallam County commissioners have postponed a decision on possibly dissolving the Striped Peak Road District.
Yesterday, commissioners delayed a vote on the move that would've rescinded the four-year-old road improvement district near Freshwater Bay. But a project to widen and improve about half a mile of the road there still has not gotten underway. Property owners in the area to pay about 13-thousand dollars over two decades to pay for the project, pegged at about 664-thousand dollars.
Now commissioners are weighing whether the district should continue altogether or if a new plan should emerge.
Commissioners may head back into an executive session to talk more about the issue and perhaps bring it back for a vote later this month.
