Work continues on 101 widening

(Port Angeles) -- Construction continues on widening the last remaining two-lane section of Highway 101 between Port Angeles and Sequim.
Last month, crews shifted traffic onto a mile-long segment of the new roadway between Kitchen-Dick Road and Cliff Robinson Road.
Doug Adamson of the state Department of Transportation says more paving work is scheduled in the near future.
Construction crews are busy building the new McDonald Creek bridge and other aspects of the project that will result in a continuous four-lane divided highway between Sequim and Port Angeles.
Drivers traversing the project may have noticed some rough roadway.
However, Adamson tells us that no final paving has been done as of yet.
The new four-lane roadway will have two lanes in each direction and a wide median.
The majority of the work is expected to be complete by late fall.
