Mental eval ordered for alleged kidnap suspect

July 10th, 2014 - 1:57pm

(Port Angeles) A man accused of trying to kidnap a young boy at a Port Angeles beach will undergo a mental evaluation.

Superior Court Judge George Wood yesterday ordered 56-year-old Arthur Delfield Crall to be evaluated before he is formally arraigned on charges.

Crall faced 2nd degree kidnapping and 2nd degree assault charges.

He's being held in the Clallam County Jail on 35-thousand dollars bail.

According to arrest reports, the father of a 6-year-old boy called police after the father said Crall pushed him down and tried to grab the boy at Hollywood Beach June 29th.

Police reports indicate Crall did not know the boy or the father.

Crall will be evaluated at the Clallam County Jail by psychiatrists from Western State Hospital.
