PA fire extinguishes small grass fire
July 10th, 2014 - 3:10pm
(Port Angeles) – Port Angeles fire department crews were called to a brush fire this morning on the west side of town.
The call came in at about 6:30 this morning at 829 West 16th Street.
A 30-foot diameter fire was reportedly burning fairly close to a mobile home.
Port Angeles Fire Chief Ken DuBuc says crews had the fire extinguished within a half-hour.
PA firefighters responded to the blaze with 5 firefighters in an engine and a medic unit.
Chief DuBuc says fires in a compost or lawn clipping pile can be prevented by spreading the pile over a larger area.
The Department of Natural Resources raised their fire condition level for Clallam County to moderate yesterday.
