(Sequim) -- The City of Sequim has received a 9-thousand dollar Growth Management Update Grant from Growth Management Services, a unit of the Washington State Department of Commerce to support the completion of Sequim 120, the comprehensive plan update project.
Community Development Director Chris Hugo says the grant provides very important funding to help complete the public review draft of the Sequim 120 plan by the end of 2014.
Hugo says the City of Sequim is mandated by state law to update its comprehensive plan by 2016.
Hugo tells us a completely new comprehensive plan process with a different growth strategy started in 2012 with the Sequim 120 citizen participation program.
The City has been contracting with the Rissee Group to assist City staff in the public outreach and development of the public review draft portions of the project.
The Sequim 120, comprehensive plan update is expected to be adopted by the Sequim City Council in the spring of 2015.
