PA man to be sentenced on drug charges

(Port Angeles) -- A Port Angeles man will be sentenced July 22nd on a series of drug charges.
24-year-old Matt M. Malcom was found guilty July 14th of Delivery of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Bail Jumping in Clallam County Superior Court.
The case began as an OPNET operation in Sequim during which officers purchased methamphetamine in the parking lot of a large store in the 1100 block of West Washington Street.
As the case continued, OPNET also purchased heroin at an apartment in the 100 block of West 6th Street in Port Angeles.
OPNET developed probable cause to arrest Malcolm, and he was arrested.
During Malcolm’s arrest Sequim Police recovered additional narcotics.
As the case progressed Malcolm, missed a court date and the charge of Bail Jumping was added.
A jury found Malcolm guilty of delivering methamphetamine to OPNET, possessing methamphetamine in Sequim, and Bail Jumping.
The jury was not able to reach a unanimous verdict on the heroin delivery charge.
That case, which occurred within 1000 feet of a school bus stop, will be re-set for trial.
