Active search called off for armed robbery suspect in PA

(Port Angeles) – A man police say robbed a Port Angeles pizza place is still at large.

Monday afternoon at about two, a lone man walked into the the Papa Murphy's store along east Front street.

Police say the man showed a handgun and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He fled on foot westbound on Front Street.

Police searched for the suspect for about an hour and a half before calling off the active search that included multiple agencies, a helicopter and police dog.

A toy handgun was found near Vine Street that police believe may have been used in the heist.

The suspect was described as a white male possibly in his 30's. He had a green scarf across his face at the time of the robbery. He was wearing a “camo” ball cap, and a Hawaiian shirt over a dark sweatshirt, dark pants. The man was described as having a husky build and was about six feet tall.

Police are looking for any information or anyone who may have seen a person matching that description.
