World Series bound

July 27th, 2014 - 9:28am

The Port Angeles regional baseball champion Cal Ripken 12U baseball squad is expected home Monday, will wash the dirty laundry, raise some funds and get ready for the World Series in Alachua, Florida beginning August 6th.

Port Angeles beat Lower Columbia out of Oregon 14-2, then topped Caldwell, Idaho 9-4 to take the regional title Saturday.

More details of the World Series is coming, but Port Angeles Cal Ripken sent a softball team to the same site two years ago.

Babe Ruth covers transportation expense from Seattle to Florida, but the team needs to raise funds for travel expenses between Port Angeles and Seattle and for other non-covered expenses in Florida. Donations can be made to any First Federal branch.
