Primary election results

(Port Angeles) -- The Democrat and Republican in the race for Clallam County Commissioner will advance to the general election.
In primary results released Tuesday night, Democrat Sissi Bruch was the top vote getter with 43 percent of the votes in the west-end district. Republican Bill Peach earned 40 percent. The two are separated by about 100 votes. Independent Byron Monohon received just 16 percent of the vote. The entire county will vote in the race for the general election.
In a non-binding race for Clallam County Prosecutor, Mark Nichols was leading the sitting prosecutor Will Payne by about 400 votes, 51 percent to 48 percent. Both are Republicans and will advance to the general election,
Incumbent Democrat Steve Tharinger and Republican Thomas Greisamer will advance to the general election for a 24th District state House seat. Tharinger received 58 percent of the vote, Greisamer got 35 percent and Libertarian Dr. Stanford Conway received eight percent.
In the primary for 6th District U.S. Congress, incumbent Democrat Derek Kilmer was easily the top vote getter, garnering more than 58 percent. Kilmer and Republican Marty McClendon will advance to the general election. McClendon received 35 percent of the vote.
