(Port Angeles) –– A decision will come within the next two weeks on a conditional-use permit for a proposed recreational marijuana grow operation in rural Carlsborg neighborhood.
Yesterday, neighbors packed a hearing on the proposal at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Hearings Examiner Mark Nichols says he will issue a decision on the permit by August 27th.
Ryan Palmer of Pierce County applied for a recreational marijuana operation on 6 acres at 322 Cassidy Road.
The legal grow operation would produce more than 5-thousand square feet of marijuana plant canopy inside a steel building and two greenhouses.
The proposed grow facility, would include almost 85-hundred square feet of buildings surrounded by an 8-foot-tall fence.
Clallam County planners had recommended Nichols deny the permit, after area neighbors protested the plan.
The county has approved four conditional-use permits for marijuana grows and has two more that are currently open to public comment.
